WBCSD – World Bank, Δήλωση για τιμή άνθρακα - Πρόσκληση συνυπογραφής

Το Παγκόσμιο Δίκτυο Επιχειρήσεων για τη Βιώσιμη Ανάπτυξη (WBCSD), σε συνεργασία με την Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα (World Bank), καλούν τις κυβερνήσεις και τις επιχειρήσεις όλου του κόσμου να προσυπογράψουν μια Δήλωση για να υποστηρίξουν τη θέσπιση μιας τιμής άνθρακα στη Σύνοδο Κορυφής για το Κλίμα του Γεν. Γραμματέα των Ηνωμένων Εθνών τον ερχόμενο Σεπτέμβρη. Dear Global Network Partners, I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer. I am writing to share with you a very key document in the area of carbon pricing. The WBCSD is working with The World Bank Group to endorse a call for countries and companies to support a price on carbon. The statement will be launched at the UN Secretary-General´s Climate Summit in New York this September. By supporting this statement, companies will join a growing coalition of governments worldwide taking the lead on putting a price on carbon. A carbon price provides a necessary signal for investment in low-carbon and resilient economic growth. Regardless of the mechanism used, carbon pricing needs to be part of any package of policies to scale up mitigation. Carbon pricing also improves the efficiency of the economy, allowing for increased government investments or tax reductions in other areas. As you know, without a price on carbon, getting the response we need across the private sector will be very hard. WBCSD is working with our member companies to encourage them to sign the statement and asks the Global Network Partners to support this by sending it to your members and encouraging potential support.
